Beeld newspaper today offered some clarity on why the DA made such an extraordinary move against Sowetan political journalist, Anna Majavu, by blacklisting her.
Apparently, a DA MP told Beeld on condition of anonymity, that ” Dis nie die ideale situasie nie. Maar die Sowetan het baie lesers en dis een van die gebiede waar ons ’n deurbraak wil maak en ons kan haar (Majavu) nie toelaat om leuens te versprei nie.”
Which, translated, means: “It is not the ideal situation. But the Sowetan has many readers and it is one of the areas where we want to make a breakthrough and we can’t let her (Majavu) spread lies about us there”.
