The Daily Maverick announced today that it had launched a simpler, better and smarter new Web site. Following international trends in web design, the improved site’s clear layout and fonts offer an enhanced visual and news reading experience for Daily Maverick aficionados as well as those newly won over.
Easier to navigate, the site has been divided into sections, highlighting Headline Features as well as stories relating to Africa, South Africa, Business, World, Life Etc… and Sport. New sections to look out for are Wired World and In Case You Missed It, keeping readers in touch with daily headlines from global news agencies as well as past articles and analysis.
“It was time to take the feedback and experiences from the last two and a half years and create a better user experience for our readers. We also wanted to accommodate improved functionality and navigation tools as well as a layout that accommodates the increased amount of coverage we are now producing. We have maintained the highly visual aspects of the site while bringing the more sophisticated design elements of iMaverick to the web,” says CEO Styli Charalambous of the redesign.
The launch takes place at Seattle Coffee in Hyde Park, Johannesburg at 10h00. Readers, critics and friends of Daily Maverick are invited to come and meet the team, discuss the new site and enjoy a coffee compliments of the those people who’ve brought you the news and analysis site your mother warned you about. The launch is set to trend on Twitter on the hashtag #DMNewClothes.
