After three short years, Huisgenoot has reached 200 000 ‘likes’ on Facebook, making it the biggest Facebook page of any South African publication and the largest Afrikaans destination on Facebook.
“The fact that Huisgenoot’s Facebook page reached 200 000 ‘likes’ is testament to the strength of the brand and the loyalty of the Afrikaans-speaking community to the magazine,” says Wilmer Müller, head of digital, Huisgenoot, YOU and Drum.
“Under the careful supervision of our web editor we monitor activities on our Facebook page 24/7 and stimulate conversations, improve interaction and offer our fans substance with regular competitions and giveaways,” Wilmer says.
