Brand South Africa has selected a credit card-sized Z-CARD as a marketing tool to provide South African business and media stakeholders with interesting facts about South Africa. “We sought a way to compress heavy content in an ensemble that would make it convenient for stakeholders, offering them access to useful facts in their travels locally and abroad,” says Brand South Africa’s Sithembile Ntombela.
“In this complex and modern economy, few countries can grow without a marketing agency. As countries, we all compete for the same tourism, investment and trading share of wallet. Therefore a marketing agency can help identify key features and advantages to be leveraged,” she adds.
Brand South Africa’s mandate is to build South Africa’s nation brand reputation to improve the country’s global competitiveness, with an intense focus on driving international investment and trade. “Our mandate also speaks to our reputation as a country, which is important as it impacts on investment – jobs, economic growth, our national sense of pride and social cohesion. Reputation is a key driver of our international mandate,” Ntombela explains.
“The Z-CARD® was produced as a means of taking this collateral to the next level in terms of providing an array of informative facts and figures about South Africa in a compact unit,” she says. The Z-CARD® includes South Africa Fast Facts, which provides readers with key facts and figures; a synopsis of South Africa’s political landscape and competitive economy; and a scorecard that speaks to facts about South Africa’s resources in the context of its global standing. The card also includes interesting information about South Africa’s transport infrastructure and international relations.
