The innovative kykNET cooking show, Die Nataniël Tafel, will be back for a fourth and fifith season. The show sees Nataniël host celebrity guests, prepare meals, and invite a potpourri of ordinary South Africans to showcase their special dishes. Sponsored by Checkers, a brand that has often invited Nataniël into its own advertising campaigns, Die Nataniel Tafel showcases the iconoclastic performer’s unique take on South African culture and in particular, its culinary diversity.
Conceptualised and produced through the collaboration of Cape Town production house Mad about Movies and the Nataniël House of Music, the show has been such a success that Mad has been commissioned to produce a fourth (and fifth) season.
Mad About Movies is a division of Cape-based ad agency MadWorld that administers the advertising of different brands within the Shoprite Group. “Creating this show was the most marvelous fun,” says founder Adelaide Potgieter. “We had the incredible opportunity to run this crazy idea from conception and client buy-in, to shooting each episode with the very talented Nataniël, before post-production at our studio in Woodstock. And then receiving the Tempo award alongside the best of the best in Afrikaans entertainment? It’s like a diamante cherry on our red velvet cake. What a perfect occasion to kick off our brand new season!”
Looking at the topic lineup, season 4 promises to be extremely entertaining. The 13-part season of Die Nataniël Tafel is currently airing on Tuesdays at 19h30 on Kyknet.
