What does freedom mean to you? That was the question www.spree.co.za asked various proud South Africans in its Freedom Day campaign, #FeelFreeSA.
Head of marketing for the online retailer, Karen Dempers, said the campaign gave them the “opportunity to reflect on what makes us feel free”.
“We asked proudly South African individuals who we have worked with before or who have inspired us over the past few years to be a part of the campaign”, adds Dempers.
By asking influential South African to share what made them feel free, they hoped to inspire everyone to share and amplify the positive sentiment engendered by Freedom Day, Dempers said.
“As an artist I believe you have to use every opportunity to voice your message and get a message of positivity out there to the people. I feel like we’re living in great time where we can express ourselves with art, with music and with design. That is how I celebrate my freedom.” – Chad Saaiman, Singer & Songwriter
“Young South Africans are so alive with possibility. We might not know it now but we are truly free. Anything is possible. We just need to encourage each other and give each other a chance to celebrate our own giftings. That’s what this day is about essentially.” – Danilo Acquisto, TV & Radio Presenter
