Capricorn FM leads Limpopo’s ‘progressive radio revolution’ from the front
Limpopo’s only commercial radio station, Capricorn FM, is in its tenth year and has announced a series of changes to its offering. The station will see the return of the chart show, the introduction of the four hours’ time channel across most weekend programming, new show names as well as new presenters.
“With minimal adjustment to the weekday primetime slots, Complexion and Mpho remain solid on the Capricorn FM Breakfast, followed by Hlekani Shikwambana whose mid-morning show name changes to The Tailored Experience. The Midday show will however, get a ray of sunshine with Dee Nkomo and Itumeleng Banda who both move from their respective Midnight shows to bring you the Urban Lunch Experience,” the station announced.
Maxwell and Ms Kulie will still drive listeners home with Capricorn FM Drive and the only talk show on the station, Capricorn FM Talk with Thabiso Kotane remains in its original time slot. Saturday Breakfast will be served sizzling hot by Kea M who moves from anchoring sports and hosting Saturday afternoon show respectively to team up with another new name and Mpumalanga’s talented Nhlamulo Makhubele between 06h00 and 10h00.
The much anticipated chart show, Urban Hot 40 will be hosted by none other than Tholi B, the station’s manager, every Saturday between 10h00 and 14h00.
After many guesses and hints, the station welcomes the renowned television and radio broadcaster, Hulisani Ravele, a proud daughter of the province. She will host The Saturday Flex alongside the funny and witty Daniel Teras, who leaves sports broadcasting completely, every Saturdays from 14h00 until 18h00.

Toyota launches social media live-streaming campaign #ToyotaLive
If you want to connect with Millennials, then you’ve got to speak their language…and that language is music. So, that’s what Toyota is doing with its ground-breaking online campaign to communicate with men and women in the 18 to 35 age group, using Toyota’s funky new lifestyle models, the C-HR and the RAV4, as a high-octane backdrop.
#ToyotaLive kicked off on March 23 across all major social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, with a live-streamed 15-minute music show. Live-streaming across the social media platforms simultaneously is a South African first.
The campaign will run over ten consecutive weeks, in 10 to 15-minute episodes, featuring ten of the country’s top musicians – but with a twist. The well-known musos will team up with up-and-coming acts. The household name artists will perform one of their own hits and perform a collaboration with the break-out new artist.
Conceived by FCB Joburg, the shows will be hosted by the livewire Fred Merc, and will feature a veritable Who’s Who of the local music industry, including Nasty C, Kwesta, Locnville, Fifi Cooper and Nakhane Toure. Newcomers, including Telleman, Mque, TLT and Chad da Don, are expected to seize this great opportunity.
