While others talk, dentsu builds creators

Dentsu School of Influence is heading to Ghana

[PRESS OFFICE] The creator economy has a blind spot. Thousands of creators are learning how to grow audiences. Very few are being taught how to build sustainable careers.

Brands invest heavily in creator partnerships. Platforms continue to grow. Influencer marketing has become mainstream.

Yet one critical question remains: Who is teaching creators the business of being a creator?

Following successful launches in South Africa and Kenya, dentsu is bringing the Dentsu School of Influence to Ghana, a structured learning experience designed to help aspiring and emerging creators develop the skills, knowledge and commercial understanding needed to succeed in today’s creator economy.

Practical programme

This is not another content creation workshop. It is a practical programme focused on helping creators understand the realities behind influence: brand partnerships, commercial value, audience development, reputation management, professional conduct, content strategy, and long-term career growth.

At dentsu Ghana, we have worked with close to one thousand creators and influencers across campaigns over the past year. Across every category, from telecommunications and financial services to FMCG, technology and lifestyle, one insight has become increasingly clear:

The challenge is not creativity. The challenge is sustainability.

Many creators know how to build an audience. Far fewer understand how to build a business. The Dentsu School of Influence was created to help close that gap.

Evolving creator economy

As Ghana’s creator economy continues to evolve, the industry needs creators who can do more than produce content. It needs creators who understand strategy, professionalism, ethics, audience trust, and commercial value.

Creators who know how to create influence, and creators who know how to create opportunity.

“The creator economy is creating new pathways for entrepreneurship, creativity, and economic participation across Africa. Yet too many creators are expected to figure out the business side of influence on their own.

We believe creators deserve the same level of professional development available in any other industry. The Dentsu School of Influence is about investing in talent with practical skills, industry exposure and real-world knowledge that can help turn influence into sustainable careers.”

Designed as a five-day immersive experience, Dentsu School of Influence brings together experts from across the creator ecosystem, including marketers, strategists, legal professionals, production specialists, brands, and experienced creators.

Participants will learn through:

  • Interactive masterclasses
  • Practical workshops
  • Creator Studio sessions
  • Panel discussions
  • Live demonstrations
  • Brand engagement sessions
  • Capstone presentations

The programme is structured around five core learning pillars:

  • Foundations of Influence
  • Platform Mastery
  • The Road to Great Content
  • Brand Partnerships and Campaign Success
  • The Business of Being a Creator

Participants will gain practical knowledge in:

  • Personal branding
  • Storytelling
  • Content production
  • Audience growth
  • Commercialisation and monetisation
  • Brand collaboration
  • Ethics and professional conduct
  • Creator entrepreneurship

 Why Ghana? Why now?

Ghana is home to one of Africa’s most dynamic creator communities. Brands are increasingly turning to creators as trusted voices capable of shaping conversations, driving engagement, and building meaningful audience connections.

Yet as the market matures, expectations are changing. Brands are no longer looking only at follower numbers. They are looking for professionalism. They are looking for accountability. They are looking for creators who understand how business works.

This is where Dentsu School of Influence fits in.

The Ghana chapter has been intentionally developed to reflect the realities and opportunities of Ghana’s creator ecosystem while contributing to a broader vision of raising standards across the industry.

The programme also coincides with the launch of the new Dentsu Creative Studio, giving participants access to a professional production environment where learning can be applied in practice.

The experience will culminate in a live Creator Pitch Showcase, where participants will present campaign concepts to an industry panel. The top three participants will be recognised for excellence in creative thinking, strategic planning, and execution.

For dentsu, this is not about creating more influencers. It is about building creators who can navigate contracts, understand value, manage brands, protect their reputation, and build careers that extend beyond algorithms and trends.

It is about building the skills that sit behind sustainable influence. It is about creating a stronger creator economy for creators, brands, and audiences alike. Most importantly, it is about doing the work.

While others debate the future of influence, dentsu is building the people who will shape it.
