Shireen Japhta is a complete all-rounder in developing content marketing strategies by understanding broadcasting, licensing of international formats, and developing branded content projects with cross promotion amplification in advertising, media relations, activation, events and digital environments.
She has 14 years’ experience spanning across advertising and broadcasting industries. Broadcasting is her passion and she holds a number of firsts under her belt, which includes being an instrumental part of a four-member team who implemented SABC Interactive. SABC Interactive unit was a first of its kind in South Africa, mandated to generate alternative revenue by providing commercial clients with a one-stop-shop media solution, to explore and activate brands by utilising all 27 SABC clusters.
Her career highlights also include the setting up of an activation unit for MediaCom, which was also first in an advertising environment. Clients serviced at the time: FNB, MTN, Wyeth.
Flagship projects included the FNB Heartlines series 1, Kaelo – Miracle Stories, Sanlam Fashion Week and project managed programmes such as The Apprentice SA, Isidingo, The Wedding Show, PlayTV, Top Billing, Going Nowhere Slowly, Comedy Showcase, Hard Copy, 3Talk, The Baroness, The Lab, for SABC 3.
She been with OMD for just over 3 years as a Senior Channel Strategist on the Standard Bank account.
