Adams & Adams partnership crucial for Design Indaba

“Own and protect your creativity.”  That’s the message from leading SA law firm Adams & Adams, which is, for the third year in a row, the official legal advisor and associate sponsor to the annual Design Indaba.

The firm is the largest Intellectual Property (IP) practice in Africa and the Southern Hemisphere. It also provides general commercial services.

“Intellectual Property (IP) rights are an imperative for economic success and are an instigator for creative genius to communicate their work with society at large. They should be able to create their pioneering designs and inventions and enjoy the monetary benefits thereof,” says Mariette du Plessis, senior partner at Adams & Adams.

Ravi Naidoo, founder of Design Indaba says  the Adams & Adams partnership “is a crucial one for Design Indaba. We host over 500 SMME’s in the design & creative sector as they market their produce to buyers from around the world – it’s clear that Adams & Adams help us create an environment where commerce can flourish, as they advise our community about patents, copyright and trademarks, which enables our designers to earn financial benefit from their creations.”

Primedia Unlimited partners with the Maharishi Institute

South Africa’s largest grouping of Out of Home companies, Primedia Unlimited, has announced a partnership with educational body The Maharishi Institute. The purpose of the partnership is to lend both financial support and intellectual expertise to the organisation.

“Primedia Unlimited’s key CSI and Enterprise Development driver over the next 12 months will be to engage with Maharishi students to establish a ‘Marketing Unlimited’ course to enrich the student’s business degree, which they study via distance education. We live and breathe the marketing and advertising industry, and we believe we can get them excited about the incredible possibilities in store for them and provide them invaluable real world skills”. Several of our management will be lecturing on their individual areas of expertise,” says CEO Ken Varejes.

“The partnership also means that Primedia Unlimited will invest time and resources to market the Maharishi Institute.
