Ogilvy’s Rob Hill has been selected as a jury member for The 2011 Bees Awards, along with 19 other professionals from around the world. Based in San Francisco, The Bees Awards are the first international social media marketing awards for communication professionals and will once again select winners in over 23 specialised categories.
The 2011 jury consists of professionals from 13 different countries who have been selected on the basis of their expertise, the references they received from peers, their geographic location, and, most importantly, their passion for social media.
Hill, a holding board member of Ogilvy South Africa, has been a powerful force in building the group’s digital business. Exuding a great enthusiasm for the changing world of communication and the possibilities that abound in the world of digitally integrated communication, he remarks, “It is an honour to be selected as a member of the jury and to have the opportunity to see the best work from around the world. The sphere of social media marketing is rapidly evolving and, is arguably revolutionising the advertising industry.”
As testament that social media is a worldwide phenomenon, The Bees Awards received entries from 21 countries across five continents in 2010 with entries from large marketing agencies highlighting the digital evolution of traditional advertising agencies.
