TopTV has announced that it has a new channel that went live last week. The African Movie Channel, on channel 120, pays homage to the African film industry and promises to deliver “top quality product direct from Nollywood” and other respected African producers to the screens of TopTV subscribers across South Africa.
“It is a real coup for TopTV that, following successful negotiations, we have secured a channel of the calibre of AMC for our platform. We are confident that our subscribers will find value in the broadcast and picture quality, and enjoy the 24-hour entertainment on offer,” says Eddie Mbalo, interim CEO of TopTV.”
AMC has a library of well over 1 000 quality Nollywood and other African movie titles, and hundreds of hours of award-winning soaps, series and dramas from across the continent. Due to its established partnerships, it it has access to the best African content across all its distribution platforms.
