Turner has announced a deal with Multichoice which sees Cartoon Network launch in Portuguese in Angola and Mozambique. The new channel, available on the pay TV platform DStv, broadcast from yesterday and is part of Turner’s continuing strategy to adapt its content to the demands of different territories.
“The new channel will be home of some of Cartoon Network’s flagship series, such as Adventure Time, Ben 10 Omniverse or The Amazing World of Gumball” said Domingo Corral, Turner’s SVP in Spain and Portuguese regions. “We’re confident that the adaptation to Portuguese makes our content accessible for a wider audience keen to engage with our breakout shows; in so doing we will be able to build upon and increase the success of our ratings”.
Cartoon Network is one of the biggest producers in the kids business, powered by library of content that resonates within the global marketplace. Award winning global hits include: The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time and Regular show, as well as evergreen action adventure brand Ben 10.
