SABC promises its top commercial radio stations – Metro FM, Good Hope FM and 5FM (MG5) – deliver a powerful product for advertisers. And to prove its point, the broadcaster hit the road with a funky presentation, top DJs, innovative technology and a whole lot of WOW to tell media agencies, advertising agencies and marketers why its radio brands are seriously effective.
“The MG5 Stations are powerhouses in their own right, delivering millions upon millions of active, affluent consumers. The MG5 events not only bring the stations, the DJ’s and their shows that much closer to marketers and their agencies, they also bring back some fun to the Industry, so be sure that you’re on the guest list every time!” says Gilda De Araujo, SABC’s national brand manager.
Visiting Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg – in that order – the MG5 roadshow offered guests a bespoke radio experience by creating radio shows that were designed just for the audience in the room. The DJs showcased their stations with the look, feel and sound just as if you were listening through the airwaves. There were “on-air” guests, competitions, their favourite DJs and music.
And of course, the chance to party. After each station presented its show, things started heating up in the room with MG5’s hottest DJs bringing the house down with the finest beats on the decks, including sets by Africa’s top Hip Hop and Scratch DJ, Ready D, the Naked DJ and Warras.
