The ABF is currently in its third year of hosting the annual Cape Town golf day with the Omnicom Media Group (OMG) stepping in to sponsor the event’s dinner.
“The ABF has a long standing relationship with Gary Westwater and Josh Dovey,” says Sharlene Vallance, fundraiser for the ABF. “It is amazing that when in need, a call is all it takes to secure a sponsorship like this. We are so grateful for their support.”
Every event that the ABF hosts is a tireless work in progress to ensure that as much money as possible is raised for this worthwhile charity. “The annual Cape Town golf day is slowly growing in stature,” says Vallance. “In years gone by this used to be a really big event on the media social calendar, but sadly the Cape Town committee has slowly disbanded leaving a gaping hole in the national fundraising plan.”
It was decided to resuscitate the Cape Town golf day and while, like many fund raising events, it takes time, the media and advertising industry is starting to support this worthy event again. Additional funds are raised when media owners, agencies and production houses display their generosity by sponsoring four-balls and various holes. “While we would like to see more agencies participating in the golf day, we certainly appreciate the current support that we receive from the industry.
