Adam Bertscher & Leslie London

Adam Bertscher is a PhD candidate in the Tobacco Control Research Group at University of Bath. His research focuses on the political and commercial determinants of health. His work examines how commercial industries influence policy, specifically regarding risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as tobacco, alcohol, and unhealthy foods. He also teaches undergraduate courses on International Development, and lectures on health policy for Health and Exercise Science undergraduates at University of Bath.

Leslie London is Head of the Division of Public Health Medicine in the School of Public Health and Family Medicine, UCT, and Director of its Health and Human Rights Programme. His research areas include environmental and occupational health, risks from alcohol, and the relationship between public health and human rights, particularly in health policy.
