CYBERTORIAL: Excitement is running high for Radio Pulpit’s Jubilate 2013 Competition in the search for the best Gospel talent in South Africa. Auditions are currently being held in Pretoria, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Durban.
The winner of the Jubilate Gospel Competition can look forward to excellent prizes. He or she will win a CD recording and production contract as well as an extensive marketing and promotion campaign sponsored by Vonk Music.
The overall winner, as well as winners in the different categories, will receive cash prizes, sponsored by Excella Oil. The winner in the junior section will be announced on 3 October and the winner of the senior section on the following evening during gala events at Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria.
The judges are well known personalities in the music industry: Liezel Marshall is an accomplished songwriter and was recognised as one of SA’s Top 10 new songwriters by Huisgenoot magazine in 2010. Recording two chart-topping gospel albums, with songs like ‘Dankie Pappa’, ‘Heaven’ and ‘Amazed’ and being part of the Afrikaans Praise and Worship group Onbeskaamd for three years, Liezel is no new face on the gospel scene.
Mpho Mashishi is a music organiser and radio presenter at Radio Pulpit and is also involved in the praise and worship team of Radio Pulpit. She has worked for an SABC TV Gospel Music Programme, Gospel Gold, and has extensive experience in judging the Jubilate Finals.
Renee Kruger has been part of the Vision Extreme Gospel Ministry Team and has previously been a preliminary judge for South African Idols. Renee currently performs in gospel shows at churches and is a motivational speaker.
