So the MOST Awards have come and gone. It was a gathering of the great and good in the media agency and media owner world. Records were smashed – over 6000 votes submitted to FGI our research partners, 814 people attended the event, R60 000 raised for M-Net Cares towards their breast cancer detection initiative, 16 awards presented and four fridges filled with Black Label courtesy of Daily Sun, were emptied.
Celebrating excellence is a thirsty affair.
There were memorable moments too. Two of the most humble women recived the MOST Awards for a lifetime of achievement in media. Michelle Meyjes CEO MEC Group, and Gill Randall Joint MD of NAB/Caxton. They could not believe what voters wrote in support of their nomination. Read some of the comments in The Media magazine. ]Click here for the free digital download.]
Who will ever forget Richard Proctor and Shirley Franz showing off their legs to raise funds? Chris Botha preferred to keep his jeans on leading a to speculation about his calves. Truly a night of sheep and lambs as you will see from the pics.
Publisher of Daily Sun and Sunday Sun, Jeremy Gordin made a crack about his name being the correct Gordin and to my surprise, suggested that he had never even asked me on a date. It got a few laughs. In an attempt to place the audience at ease I suggested that what he really meant to say is that he and I have never had sex and we spell our names differently.
It appears the last laugh is on me. I learnt this morning that the link that was meant to lead our readers to an edited version of the event leads to a porn site.
I am truly sorry Jeremy, perhaps a date is long overdue after all?
PS: This is the link that does NOT take you to the porn site! https://www.wildcam.tv/
