Loot.co.za is celebrating 10 years in operation ahead of the festive season. The independent online retailer has gone from strength to strength, now offering their customers a much broader online shopping experience which currently encompasses 13 categories. October saw over 40 % year on year growth in revenues and 41 % in new customer registrations.
“We are really proud to be celebrating this milestone at a time when e-commerce is increasing at a rate of around 30% a year, with no sign of slowing down. The launch of our new general merchandise categories, such as Wine & Gourmet, Kitchen & Dining and Office & Stationary has been the catalyst in re-positioning and driving growth, while we continue to amplify the local supply-chain” says Gary Hadfield, who joined the dynamic team at Loot.co.za as CEO in 2011.
Loot shoppers have shown a significant increase in shopping via their mobile devices. Loot boasts a 159% growth in mobile traffic with a 400% increase in revenue. A 102 % increase in tablet traffic has resulted in revenue growth of 148%, with IOS being the dominant platform.
“We are excited by the rapidly increasing on-line shopping trend and are constantly improving our customers’ digital shopping experience,” says Hadfield. “This festive season we are expecting to see significant growth and popularity within our kitchen and dining, electronics, computers, baby and toys stores.”
