The finalists for the 2016 IAB Bookmark Awards have been announced. This follows a record number of entries from South Africa’s marketers, agencies, publishers and individuals.
“The calibre of this year’s Bookmarks entries shows a nation embracing digital in fresh, innovative ways. The overwhelming response to the awards, and the preceding IAB Digital Summit, illustrates that digital is a priority across a multitude of sectors, and that our organisation has established itself as the yardstick for excellence in the field,” Josephine Buys, CEO of IAB SA says.

The IAB Bookmark Awards honours individuals, agencies and brands that have achieved excellence in digital creative work and execution. John Dixon is this year’s jury president, with Jury Chairs Deirdre Ingpen judging the Publisher category; Kerry Friend judging the Builders category and Felix Kessel judging the Marketing panel.
Many of the finalists boasted engaging campaigns and authentic storytelling. Truly connecting to humanity through digital platforms was a dominant theme. Non-profit organisations also feature strongly on the shortlist, which marks a trend of using digital campaigns to do good.
The 2016 awards ceremony will take place on March 3 2016 from 7pm at the Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg. Both the Bookmarks and the IAB Digital Summit are hot tickets, and expected to sell out in the weeks before the events. Josephine adds, “The anticipation for both events is high. We’re excited about unveiling this year’s winners, and celebrating digital in South Africa with the best in the industry.”
