Palesa Mokomele

Palesa Mokomele is an entrepreneur who is working within the social impact space. She is the co-founder of two companies, Ezabalobi Media and Botho Concepts. The former is a communications solutions media company primarily working in the fishing industry; through this vehicle, she and her partner are developing a communication platform for the fishing industry. At Botho Concepts, they produce sisal fibre bags which which they sell in Uganda and in South Africa.

Mokomele’s background is in media and communication. She is a professional communication and political communication specialist who has served under two national Ministers of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as a Spokesperson. In this role, she was interacted with a global network of journalists and media players, explaining government policy in relation to the most pressing issues in the three sectors.
She was appointed the Director of Communication Services at the Fisheries Management branch where she oversaw all communication, leading a team of ten.
Born in Cape Town, Mokomele gained a BA degree at the University of Cape Town and read for a Masters degree at the University of Leeds, after she was awarded a Chevening Scholarship. She is currently completing a three month Impact Venture Incubation Programme at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.

She has carved her place in the South African political communication sector and was featured in a leading professional women's magazine, Destiny Magazine, in a section dedicated to under 30s in politics.
