In line with wrapping up the 20 years of democracy celebrations in South Africa, Radio 2000 hosted Music Legends Robbie Malinga, Marc Alex, Ernie Smith and Moneoa on the breakfast show, Planet Haaibo, on 10 December 2014 where they discussed the evolution of South African music looking back from 1994, their memories and thoughts of South African music. This is aligned with the station’s ‘Our Music. Your memories’ campaign which focuses on the listeners memories that are sparked through music.
Music has played a powerful role in uniting South Africans and has assisted with building a rainbow nation. Robbie Malinga, Marc Alex, Ernie Smith and Moneoa have made a remarkable impact in the South African music industry. “The Top 100 music competition is very special and we are truly excited about the memories that our listeners will share with us from the last 20 years of democracy. We encourage our listeners to submit their votes via our website as soon as possible. This will be in line with the Top 100 Most Memorable songs of the past 20 years’ competition for the listeners which will be hosted on 31 December 2014. Five listeners will win their share of R50 000.00 if they successfully pick the top five songs. They will have to add their memory to the song that they like and vote for it on the Radio 2000 website.
