Oomph! Media joins the Nfinity Media Group stable

CYBERTORIAL*: Ken Varejes, founder and CEO of Nfinity Media Group, has warmly welcomed Oomph! Media into his stable of companies.

Oomph! is a team of experiential marketers delivering sensory brand experiences not only in South Africa but throughout the African continent. And that is what Nfinity found appealing, both the nature of Oomph’s business as well as its reach. “We saw an opportunity to bring in an activation and experiential company into our mix as this was an area that we did not operate in … this will allow us to leverage some of our business into Africa as well,” Varejes comments.

He also praised the quality of Oomph’s management team. “We have great calibre individuals in Frikkie, Rory and Trevor who have immense experience in this arena in both South Africa and the rest of Africa. To top it off we have a great chemistry with the management and we have known and worked with Frikkie for many years. Our existing businesses will allow for great leverage with key relationships,” Varejes said.

The deal took four to five months to conclude, including due diligence. There will be no changes to Oomph’s management team and no change to its name either. “What takes place is that the Nfinity companies and management will now be able to help open doors for the Oomph! team to get into some new spaces that they had previously not managed to penetrate. Similarly the Oomph! team can open some doors for the balance of the Nfinity group companies. We will add the Nfinity group to the masthead and all marketing paraphernalia will showcase the link to the group,” Varejes explained.

Financial investment into our operational infrastructure, development and innovation will see immediate growth in both existing and new markets

Varejes concludes, “We believe that business partnerships should be tied into people that have similar dispositions and attitudes. We have no doubt that we have found great partners in the Oomph! management team who think alike and have a really passionate and positive way about them. This will be what takes us to the next level and beyond.”

Commenting on the deal Rory Brien, chief sales and marketing officer at Oomph! Media, said Varejes was a “a legend in the media, marketing and advertising industry and we are honoured to form part of his Nfinity vision. The synergies between the various Nfinity offerings and Oomph! will provide our collective clientele with a host of new opportunities, insights and services”.

Oomph! CEO Frikkie Cornelius echoes Brien’s sentiments, adding that this new chapter would see strong growth and broader service offerings in Oomph’s key African markets. “The vision and values of the Nfinity group speaks clearly to that of Oomph’s, a strategic alignment of expertise and resources will deliver strong development of our media offerings across the continent. Financial investment into our operational infrastructure, development and innovation will see immediate growth in both existing and new markets”.

Oomph! Media was founded in 2012 by experiential marketing guru Rory Brien and Africa out of home entrepreneur Frikkie Cornelius and offered promotions and events. Since then it has grown into an African media powerhouse delivering activations, media strategy and out-of-home services to a multitude of multi-national blue chip clientele.
