The MOST awards is coming up and Mediamark is once again the sponsor of the Media Agency Legend Award.

Mediamark has coveted the sponsorship of this award for many years and will continue to do so going forward.  Charlie Wannell, head of marketing at Mediamark, explains why this is such an important award for Mediamark and why they continue to sponsor it year on year.

Isn’t it time to start creating new legends?

In this ever evolving media landscape, we have the industry experts that have led the way in the field taking on new challenges, opportunities and ideas to grow the industry and the people in it. At Mediamark, we have decided to take it one step further this year and make it our business to create new legends in the industry.

Hence, the launch of Mediamark’s In the KNOW NOW initiative that facilitates the growth and development of new talent in the industry to make their mark in the industry, embracing the evolution of technology and how it is affecting the media space as well as other mitigating factors to become the future legends of the industry.

This is not to say that the current legends in the industry do not have a part to play, but at Mediamark we have teamed up with the best to coach and guide the industry as part of the In the KNOW NOW initiative. Creating content that will place up and coming legends in good stead as they explore the terrain and make a name for themselves in the future of media.

We need to set the foundation for the rising stars of the industry to have a thorough understanding of media, where it has come from and the way forward. It is important that they are nurtured and stay committed to the media industry and play an instrumental role in moving it forward to the next level.

As a member of the AMASA committee, it is crucial that as an industry we support organisations such as these as they focus on attracting bright young minds into the world of media and ensure through their efforts that individuals not only excel but remain within the industry.

Times are tough in the industry and more and more of our customers are demanding deeper insights, stronger returns and strategic planning. At Mediamark, through In the KNOW NOW, we are working with the best to ensure we are equipping the future legends with the knowledge and training to take media to the next level.

It is this thinking that drives us to sponsor the Media Legends category of the MOST Awards and look forward to watching these new legends take their spot in the limelight in the near future.
