The Advertising Media Association of South Africa) is hosting a debate on quality versus pricing procurement. Through a panel of industry thought leaders, the industry forum will explore marketer’s drive towards procurement-centric thinking and media as a commodity versus quality of exposure.
Volume-based procurement impacts media agencies and media owner’s worlds in terms of remuneration and pricing guarantees, including Cost Per Point (CPP) deals. This in turn impacts the media owner landscape as clients push for longer payment terms and lower CPP’s.
Does procurement understand the media rationale of why sometimes a better buy may cost more? Has the media agency done enough to educate procurement departments?
Leading the discussion and sharing their valued insights, AMASA’s panel includes Sarel du Plessis, (The Marketers Association of SA), Chris Botha (Group MD, The MediaShop), Gordon Muller (CEO, GSM Quadrant), Chris Hitchings (DStv) and Ryan Williams (Group MD, Nota Bene, facilitator and AMASA representative).
The debate is taking place on Wednesday, March 7, SterKinekor Preview Theatre, Primovie Park, 185 Katherine Rd.
